After, in any Office application go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch the AutoUpdate app. Let AutoUpdate install updates and then restart your Mac.
  • @CpuID how do I know 'the image expects systemd sysfs entries'? A difficult assumption to make ahead of time. The answer might need to be Docker passing through a mocked set of sysfs entries to the container sysfs, when the host OS doesn't have them (due to a lack of systemd)?

Apple quickly issued an update to iOS 7 and iOS 6, but took longer to issued an update for Mac OS X, despite Apple confirming that the same SSL/TSL security flaw was also present in OS X. GoldMax establishes a secure session key with its C2 and uses that key to securely communicate with the C2, preventing non-GoldMax-initiated connections from receiving and identifying malicious traffic. The C2 can send commands to be launched for various operations, including native OS commands, via psuedo-randomly generated cookies.

Unknown unicast traffic consists of unicastpackets with unknown destination MAC addresses. By default, the switchfloods these unicast packets that traverse a VLAN to all interfacesthat are members of that VLAN. Forwarding this type of traffic cancreate unnecessary traffic that leads to poor network performanceor even a complete loss of network service. This flooding of packetsis known as a traffic storm.

To prevent a traffic storm, you can disable the flooding ofunknown unicast packets to all VLAN interfaces by configuring specificVLANs or all VLANs to forward all unknown unicast traffic traversingthem to a specific interface. You can configure multiple VLANs toforward unknown unicast packets to the same interface or configuredifferent interfaces for different VLANs. This channels the unknownunicast traffic traversing VLANs to specific interfaces instead offlooding all interfaces.

Verifying That Unknown Unicast Packets Are Forwarded to a Single Interface

Purpose

Verify that a VLAN is forwarding all unknown unicast packets (those with unknown destination MAC addresses) to a single interface instead of flooding unknown unicast packets across all interfaces that are members of that VLAN.

Note:

This procedure uses Junos OS for EX Series switches with support for the Enhanced Layer 2 Software (ELS) configuration style. For ELS details see: Using the Enhanced Layer 2 Software CLI.

Action

(EX4300 Switches) Display the forwarding interface for unknown unicast packets for a VLAN (here, the VLAN name is v1):

(EX9200 Switches) Display the forwarding interface for unknown unicast packets:

Meaning

The sample output from the show commands show that the unknown unicast forwarding interface for VLAN v1is interface ge-0/0/7.

Configuring Unknown Unicast Forwarding (ELS)

Note:

This task uses Junos OS for EX Series switches or QFX Series with support for the Enhanced Layer 2 Software (ELS) configuration style. For ELS details, see Using the Enhanced Layer 2 Software CLI

Unknown unicast traffic consists of packets with unknown destination MAC addresses. 43 million slot machine. By default, the switch floods these packets that traverse a VLAN to all interfaces associated with that VLAN. This flooding of packets is known as a traffic storm and can negatively impact network performance. https://torrentegypt.mystrikingly.com/blog/7spins-instant-play.

To prevent flooding unknown unicast traffic across the switch, configure unknown unicast forwarding to direct all unknown unicast packets within a VLAN to a specific interface. You can configure each VLAN to divert unknown unicast traffic to a different interface or use the same interface for multiple VLANs.

Configuring Unknown Unicast Forwarding on EX4300 Switches

To configure unknown unicast forwarding options on EX4300 switches:

  • Configure unknown unicast forwarding for a specific VLAN and specify the interface to which all unknown unicast traffic will be forwarded:
  • Configure unknown unicast forwarding for all VLANs and specify the interface to which all unknown unicast traffic will be forwarded:

Configuring Unknown Unicast Forwarding on EX9200 Switches

To configure unknown unicast forwarding on EX9200 switches, you must configure a flood filter and apply it to VLANs for which you want to configure unknown unicast forwarding. Flood filters are firewall filters that are applied only to broadcast, unknown unicast, and multicast (BUM) traffic. If a flood filter is configured, only traffic packets that are of the packet type unknown-unicast are forwarded to the interface on which unicast forwarding is configured. A next-hop group redirects the packets according to the action specified in the flood filter.

To configure the next-hop group that receives Layer 2 packets and then configure the interface to which these packets are forwarded:

  1. Configure the next-hop-group action for the Layer 2 interface expected to receive unknown unicast packets:
  2. Configure a firewall filter with family address type ethernet-switching:

    For example:

  3. Configure a term in the firewall filter for the interface that receives unknown unicast packets (the interface specified in Step 1) to discard unknown unicast packets:
  4. Configure a term in the firewall filter for unknown unicast packets to be flooded to the interface enabled for unknown unicast forwarding by using next-hop-group (in step 1):

    For example:

  5. Configure a default term for the firewall filter to forward packets other than unknown unicast packets:
  6. Apply the filter as a flood filter on the VLAN that includes the interface which will receive unknown unicast packets:

    For example:

Verifying That Unknown Unicast Packets Are Forwarded to a TrunkInterface

Purpose

Verify that a VLAN is forwarding all unknown unicastpackets (those with unknown destination MAC addresses) to a singletrunk interface instead of flooding unknown unicast packets acrossall interfaces that are members of the same VLAN.

Action

Display the forwarding interface for unknown unicastpackets for a VLAN (here, the VLAN name is v1):

Display the Ethernet switching table:

Meaning

The sample output from the show configuration ethernet-switching-options command shows that the unknown unicast forwarding interface forVLAN v1 is interface ge-0/0/7. The showethernet-switching table command shows that an unknown unicastpacket is received on interface ge-0/0/3 with the destinationMAC address (DMAC) 00:01:09:00:00:00 and the source MACaddress (SMAC) of 00:11:09:00:01:00. This shows that theSMAC of the packet is learned in the normal way (through the interface ge-0/0/3.0), while the DMAC is learned on interface ge-0/0/7.

Configuring Unknown Unicast Forwarding (CLI Procedure)

Unknown unicast traffic consists of packets with unknown destination MAC addresses. By default, the switch floods these packets to all interfaces associated with a VLAN. Forwarding such traffic to interfaces on the switch can create a security issue.

To prevent flooding unknown unicast traffic across the switch, configure unknown unicast forwarding to direct all unknown unicast packets within a VLAN out to a specific trunk interface. From there, the destination MAC address can be learned and added to the Ethernet switching table. You can configure each VLAN to divert unknown unicast traffic to different trunk interfaces or use one trunk interface for multiple VLANs.

Note:

For Junos OS for EX Series switches or QFX Series with support for the Enhanced Layer 2 Software (ELS) configuration style, see Configuring Unknown Unicast Forwarding (ELS).

To configure unknown unicast forwarding options:

Note:

Before you can configure unknown unicast forwarding within a VLAN, you must first configure that VLAN.

  1. Configure unknown unicast forwarding for a specific VLAN (here, the VLAN name is employee):
  2. Specify the trunk interface to which all unknown unicast traffic will be forwarded:

OS X Yosemite :: 10.6.8 - Unable To Select HDD For Installation

Nov 30, 2014

I have an old MacBook6,1 of 2009 (the white one), with a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory, 250GB of storage capability (100GB free), currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I'm trying to upgrade to Yosemite 10.10 (my hardware and software are both ok to do the upgrade, I checked it). The download from the appstore went ok, but when I launch the installation app and I am asked to select the volume in which I want to install the OS, I'm not able to select my 'Macintosh HD' unity (the icon is light grey), and if I try to click on it anyway, a message appears: 'Impossible to use this volume to start the computer' (actually my mac is in italian so I reported the translation of the original message: 'Impossibile utilizzare questo disco per avviare il computer').
I found out that some people had the same problem with the installation of Lion (OS X Lion: il programma di installazione indica 'Impossibile utilizzare questo disco per avviare il computer' - Supporto…), but all the proposed solutions rely on the possibility of accessing 'recovery mode', a functionality that is not enabled in snow leopard 10.6.8. And the only solution that doesn't rely on this feature (you can find it at the same link reported above), requests a redimensioning of the partition assigned to 'Macintosh HD', that in my case is the only one that I have (I don't have any bootcamp partition), and even if l do it, it doesn't work.

But when i pop it in my MBP it comes up with the apple logo with the spinning loading sign at the bottom, and then the apple logo turn's into a stop sign, no disk movement no nothing just a stop sign. I'm was wondering if anyone can tell me what the stop sign is, i've tried booting it off my external hard drive but comes up with a folder sign and a question mark in the middle

OS X :: Installation Adesso CyberTablet Z12 Driver - Stop At Info.plist

Dec 23, 2008

Download cura free. I have just purchased a Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Leopard) and I am trying to install this driver link (Scroll to the bottom). When I do I get about half way and it stops and starts at the beginning of the installation. I've noticed that it stops at info.plist. I have been able to install this driver on a Mac OS X 10.4.11 and it works great. The tablet seems to be recognized by Mac OS X 10.5.6 and I can used all the functionality of the tablet that Mac lets you. Such as write and so on and so fourth. The program Art Rage 2.5 works perfectly fine without the drivers but programs like Photoshop need this driver to detect pen pressure. I have contacted Adesso numerous times and have tried to call several times without any response. I'm hoping that someone may have the solution for me or perhaps could help me figure a solution.

Software :: ITunes Destination Folder Reverts To Default

Mar 27, 2008

Recently I bought a WD UBB HD to store my music on. I've moved everything over and works great. However, I noticed one night after ripping some of my CDs that they were going back to the default iTunes folder. I'm suspecting that this may be happening if I open iTunes before the HD mounts. Is this true? Is there a way to prevent iTunes from doing this? Or a prompt alerting me that it can't find the USB device and if it should revert to the default. Also, how can I easily move the music over to my USB HD. Can I just do Consolidate Library and not worry about losing anything?

OS X V10.4 :: New Hard Drive - Target Destination Blank When Installing OS X

Mar 15, 2012

Installed a new harddrive into my 2005 mac mini to replace 40 gb harddrive with hitachi 80 gb harddrive. When installing operating system from original osx two-disc set, the box which asks to choose which destination to install to is blank, and does not show any icon onto which to choose. Is this is defect in the disc? The computer recognizes that there is a new harddrive, so I know I installed it properly.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: How To Backup While Away From Usual Time Machine Destination

Jun 26, 2012

When at home, I have Time Machine backup to a Time Capsule (and a couple of external drives that I rotate off-site).
I'd like to guard against losing any files changed while I'm away from home for some days should I lose my hard disk. One possibility is having an external HD with a full TM backup on it but this isn't appealing to me because the HD would end up being stored close to my Macbook and it's possible they could disappear togather. The volume of modified data to backup would easily fit on a USB stick or SD card that I could keep in my pocket.
Is there a way to backup only those files modified since my last backup to Time Capsule (to my SD card)? Some reading about rsync, mtmd and mtmfs didn't yield anything useful.
My current workaround is to create a smart folder in Finder of files modified after a specified date and copy these to the SD card. This doesn't preserve the directory structure.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: No Destination Volume Available In Disk Utility Or Install Screen

Jul 2, 2012

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro to Snow leopard. About 4 days later, my Mac crashed. When I tried to restart, it came up with the grey screen with apple logo and spinning disc. I have tried all of the resets. I then decided to try and re-boot from the SL install disk. When it asked me to choose a destination volume, however, there was none available. I tried disk utility, but there was no disk available there either. I then went back and tried to use the original install disc that came with the Mac..same results. It appears that my internal hard disk has disappeared. I wonder if i am going to have to replace the hard drive?
